IDS and Turbochef showcase state of the art smart cooking equipment at latest event
Last week, we invited guests to view our latest reliable, smart ventless cooking equipment as part of our Turbochef showcase.
Over two days, a range of business owners visited our site in Bleadon, Somerset to see all that the Turbochef Sota, THE I3 & I5 and the FIRE Pizza Oven has to offer.
Turbochef chef John from Middleby and our Sales manager Brenton, guided us through the state-of-the-art commercial kitchen convection oven, showcasing how easy it is to achieve the perfect baking results.
The Sota oven provides superior speed and cooking performance in TurboChef’s smallest, most energy-efficient package. It also meant our guests (and hungry engineers) got to try out some great Panini’s cooked from fresh in under two minutes!
The Sota will cook a croissant in just 20 seconds and a toasted breakfast sandwich in 50 seconds – perfect for a busy restaurant, café or kitchen!
The FIRE Pizza Oven will cook an artisan pizza in 1 minutes 40 seconds!!! Seeing is believing, watch the video…
The results from the Sota are incredible; providing superior speed and cooking performance, this easy-to-clean machine can store up to 256 menus and has built-in self diagnostics. It’s up to 12 times as fast as a convectional oven, the Sota features a stirrer to help ensure even distribution of air and microwave, external air filtration, a vent catalyst to further limit emissions and odours, an LED timer that counts down the last 30 seconds of cook time and a top-launched microwave system.
Following the success of the open days, for a limited time only, we are offering the Turbochef Sota at just £3,499 ex VAT with finance options. This offer is only available until Sunday 30thDecember 2019.

IDS @ Houno Showroom Opening
IDS were invited to the opening of Hounö’s new showroom at Middleby UK in Wigan recently.
After a tour of the Middleby product range, including Pitco and Turbo-Chef, I was treated to the most unbelievable steak using Southbend’s gas grill! A quick change and back to the demo kitchen where Hounö chefs Martin and Edwin cooked a four course meal comprising of Crispy Fish, Egg Benedict, Beef Wellington and a Brûlée desert all made using Hounö’s fantastic range of Combination Ovens. With complimentary wine on offer it was a very nice, informal evening chatting with other distributors.
Once again a big thank you to both Hounö and Middleby UK for their generosity and good company.

IDS and Albert Goodman Chartered Accountants
Ian Dance Services were recently the topic for a Case Study from Albert Goodman Chartered Accountants who managed to capture the essence of IDS in all its glory.
Albert Goodman said, “Family business Ian Dance Services Ltd are the South-West’s leading catering engineers. When you eat at your favourite restaurant or pub, the chances are the oven was supplied and maintained by Bruce and the team. We help them to continue to grow their business.”
We look forward to continuing our relationship with Albert Goodman over the coming years.
New installation at Beese’s Riverside Bar
IDS’ 4 Wheel Drive Transporters came in handy for a recent installation at Beese’s Riverside Bar.
After selling the business a Retigo Combination Oven, IDS engineers were tasked with the intricacies of carrying said oven down a steep, wet path and into the kitchen area overlooking the river. With one engineer ‘too long’ to assist properly it was no mean feat for the other three to navigate the steps keeping the oven level at all times.
Beese’s Riverside Bar is currently undergoing a major revamp and will be open from April. Situated on the River Avon and accessible by Ferry, foot or vehicle the new Beese’s is open for private functions and to the general public and looks like it’s going to be a stunning location for food and drink. Check out their website for a history of the establishment here
IDS visit Clifton Food Range
IDS had an enjoyable visit to Clifton Food Range this morning where Charlotte and Fi offered up some lovely chicken, salmon and asparagus & egg using their ‘sous vide’ style of cooking in their world famous food baths!
Sous vide literally translates from French as ‘under vacuum.’ It was developed in France in the early 1970s when George Pralus and a food scientist joined forces to devise the perfect method for producing foie gras. After numerous experiments the best method proved to be sealing the food in a pouch under vacuum before cooking it very slowly at a controlled temperature.
Sous-vide today uses a water bath to accurately cook the vacuum packed item at a precise temperature. This creates enhanced texture and taste and means that meats such as beef emerge tender enough to be cut with a fork. This process results in minimal shrinkage, with greater yield. Wastage is reduced through accurate portion control at regen stage. This is why so many acclaimed chefs worldwide, including many with coveted Michelin stars rely on Clifton Food Range® water baths.
After indulging in some tasting we followed this up with a trip around their factory and warehouse where their products are designed and manufactured in-house. Congratulations to Clifton Food Range, it genuinely is great to see another local business doing so well.
