Grilled steak

4 portions

Ingredients

4 Sirloin steaks sliced 3 cm thick

Method

1. Brush the steak lightly with oil and keep in the fridge

until ready for use.

2. Put the HOUNÖ Grilling grid into the oven before Preheat.

Cook using the following cooking steps

– Preheat – 250°C – 1 min

– Note – insert product (giving an alarm)

– Hot Air – 235°C – 100% Fan speed – 7 minutes

After cooking

Remove the whole tray carefully from the oven. Turn the steaks over and leave for a minimum 10 minutes to rest before serving.

Chef’s tip

The steaks will be cooked to Medium. Reduce or increase the cooking time for different cooking for more or less cooked steaks. .

Recommendation of the tray

IDS @ Houno Showroom Opening

IDS were invited to the opening of Hounö’s new showroom at Middleby UK in Wigan recently.

After a tour of the Middleby product range, including Pitco and Turbo-Chef, I was treated to the most unbelievable steak using Southbend’s gas grill! A quick change and back to the demo kitchen where Hounö chefs Martin and Edwin cooked a four course meal comprising of Crispy Fish, Egg Benedict, Beef Wellington and a Brûlée desert all made using Hounö’s fantastic range of Combination Ovens. With complimentary wine on offer it was a very nice, informal evening chatting with other distributors.

Once again a big thank you to both Hounö and Middleby UK for their generosity and good company.

New Pass Through Dishwasher supplied and fitted to award winning restaurant in North Petherton

IDS were asked to supply and fit a new Maidaid C1011d Dishwasher to the award winning Clavelshay Barn (www.clavelshaybarn.co.uk) in North Petherton recently.  Our engineers timed their visit perfectly to coincide with that of the local Thatcher’s rep and were treated to a taste of Somerset’s finest cider to help rehydrate!

 

IDS and Channel 4’s Eat The Week
IDS were asked recently to provide ‘behind the scenes’ catering equipment for Channel 4’s Eat the Week with Iceland.  A combination oven and dual fuel oven range were supplied, installed and maintained under a hire agreement for use in the prep kitchen at the studio in Portishead.
Presented by Simon Rimmer, Eat The Week aims to help busy families have a healthier diet and can be seen on Sundays at 12.30pm now.

IDS attended the latest Chefs’ Forum event at the Bristol Marriott Hotel yesterday.  It was our second exhibition since joining Chefs’ Forum and it proved to be a successful day all round.

Managing Director Bruce Dance had this to say “The Chefs’ Forum is a good platform to interact with chefs and business owners and introduce them to the full range of services on offer from IDS.  We can also offer a reminder about the pitfalls of poorly installed and maintained catering equipment which can add to the annual cost of running a commercial kitchen”.
